The vineyard at Ngatarawa Wines is as pleasant to visit as tasting their wines. Situated in old stables, the cellar door is complemented by lush gardens and a lily pond. Clearview Estate

Established in 1988, Clearview has created a solid reputation for producing fruit driven wines that are not shy of flavour. Of particular note is the Reserve Chardonnay having taken the gold for ten years and counting. On site is also a popular restaurant that specialises in using local and fresh produce in their cuisine. The restaurant is open daily from 10am to 3am. The winery is open daily in the summer, and winter from Friday to Monday, 10am to 5pm.

Te Mata Winery

A bridge leads guests over a stream, through gardens and by a pond to a remarkable vineyard. Architecturally interesting, the cellar at Te Mata Estate is worth visiting for its visual appeal. Established in 1892, the mature vines produce full-bodied wines including a robust Coleraine, a Bordeaux style Cabernet Merlot. Visitors are welcome daily for tours and tastings.

Sileni Estates
The winery at Sileni Estates was designed with the customer in mind by creating several facilities to encourage visitors. The cellar door features tastings accompanied by information to help educate guests about the wine making process and the subtleties of tasting. The cellar also features many gourmet treats for sale, from cheeses to coffee. There are two restaurants, each inspired by using the freshest local ingredients. And the wine?
